Insight – TAE40122 Skillset training boost for 1,000 rural fire service volunteers
This Summer, NSW Rural Fire Service members have again given their time to save property and lives.
In 2022 the NSW RFS chose us to boost the training and education (TAE) skills of members.
We are about to complete our training of 1,000 members in what has been a massive logistical exercise. The training was customised and delivered in a variety of ways because the members are volunteers with different skills requirements and different levels of existing training.
So, we delivered a combination of skill sets and upgrades via face to face programs across NSW and live virtual classroom training. There were daytime, evening and weekend programs.
It has been a privilege to work with these brave and skilled rural fire service volunteers who support our community during challenging times. The support from RFS management helped us to achieve great results.
Skill up leaders of the future
How do you help your current supervisors or people stepping into leadership roles to be leaders of the future?
We’ve recently successfully run our 2 + 1 optional day Leaders of the Future program for clients in the food manufacturing and mining sectors.
The program gives people tools to develop essential leadership skills. Skill such as self-awareness, emotional intelligence, conflict management, communication and relationship building and engagement. Participants complete a DiSC® profiling diagnostic tool and receive a report and action plan.
3 reasons for the program’s success.
1. We customise it to a client’s values, business objectives and other leadership development work.
2. We go to the workplace and schedule training to meet rostering and operational requirements.
3. The personal DiSC® profile and optional third day of group coaching further embeds the skills and tools.
3 places left – Cert IV Work Health and Safety course
HURRY! We have three places left in our BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety which starts this month. It is ideal for people working in a WHS role who may or may not work under supervision.
Work Health and Safety courses focus on more than just safety, they also covers the overall well-being of workers in all environments, risk analysis and ensuring workers are able to resume work following injuries.
You can join the workshops at our Newcastle training centre or from anywhere via live virtual classrooms.
Progress workplace mental health
This month our Trainer and Assessor in Mental Health, Resilience and Leadership Tommy Pulleine delivered Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and Resilience First Aid Starter Training (RFAST) to Progress Rail’s Port Augusta team.
These two courses work hand in hand – helping people to build resilience as well as to recognise and respond to mental health challenges.
Congratulations to our long-standing client for creating a culture of psychosocial safety and early intervention. Both are key to a healthier and more productive workplace.
We have courses, workshops and seminars to help you to create a mentally healthy workplace, support staff mental health and meet WHS requirements including psychosocial hazards of health.
Course explainer – What is Microsoft Power BI?
Power BI is a new Microsoft business intelligence program. It creates powerful and visually appealing dashboards and graphics using data from Excel and other programs.
You don’t edit or add data in BI. It tidies data into “Fact” and “Dimension” tables for more efficient and effective data manipulation and presentation.
Reports that stand out and provide clear, easy to understand data save time, money and promote better decisions.
Our Certified Trainer offers 1-day Level 1 or level 2 courses face to face or via live virtual classroom.
TIP! You need an understanding of Excel to do a Power BI course.
