Locally based registered training organisation (RTO), and platinum sponsor of this year’s NSW Training Awards – Hunter & Central Coast, has been helping local people and businesses to get the skills they need to adapt to the changing nature of work.
Forsythes Training director, Julie Carroll, said training has been vital to overcome the challenges of COVID-19 and associated skills shortages.
Training and Assessment Education
Ms Carroll said Forysthes Training is a leading provider of Training and Assessment Education (TAE 40116) qualifications and skills sets. She said Forsythes was one of the first RTOs in Australia to be accredited to deliver the new TAE qualification.
“Across NSW we have a huge skills shortage of quality trainers and assessors,” Ms Carroll said.
“During the pandemic we have worked with governments, industry and NSW Training Services to deliver subsidised training in this area as well as in leadership, resilience and emotional intelligence,” she said.
“Using training subsidies such as Skilling for Recovery and Job Trainer, hundreds of local workers in councils, mining, emergency services, aged care and other front line workers have the training and assessment and other skills they need.”
“Gaining and maintaining training and assessment skills is essential for a range of roles but they are also helping the employability of people looking for new careers.”
Ms Carroll said Forsythes had to innovate during the pandemic to continue to successfully deliver training. It introduced virtual classroom training via ZOOM across all courses to allow people to join quality trainers and other participants from any location. While it has returned to face to face training, virtual classroom training options remain. It has recently launched a new self-directed online TAE 40116 qualification.
“Our training participants and corporate clients continue to have the flexibility to train their way. We can go to their workplace or they can come to us.”
Leadership and Management skills vital to economic recovery
She said effective leadership and management skills and styles continue to be a priority for economic recovery.
“More than ever, leaders and managers need to be effective in managing teams, conflict resolution, performance management, managing behaviours and project management.”
Platinum sponsor of Hunter & Central Coast Training Awards
Forsythes Training has been a platinum sponsor of the local NSW Training Awards for 15 years.
“The awards recognise the value of quality vocational education and training to people, industry and the economy.”
“It is great to acknowledge the very talented people who have excelled in their training.”
