A Mid Coast Council employee says his recent training in project management has been life changing.
ROM Operator Glenn Mathiske recently completed the Certificate IV in Project Management through Forsythes Training.
It had been many years since Glenn had done any formal learning. Glenn said starting the course was overwhelming and daunting. But with the support of trainer Michael Murray and Forsythes Training’s support team he is now project management trained.
“Thanks to the care and guidance I received from the team with course work and assessments, I was able to complete the course,” Glenn said.
“The trainer was possibly the calmest and most professional mentor I have ever had,” he said
“The training has already changed my immediate work situation and given me confidence and belief in myself. I know I can do further studies and not be alone when I need help.”
“Formal training can be life changing, and in this case it was.”
He said the partnership between Forsythes Training and Mid Coast Council was one that truly worked for him.
The two organisations have partnered to deliver a range of training and skill sets to staff to meet Council’s organisational development needs. Mid Coast Council was one of the first to embrace Forsythes Training’s virtual classroom approach to training during the COVID 19 pandemic.
Forsythes Training Director, Julie Carroll, said there is strong demand for project management skills and qualifications.
“Increasingly the world of work is project-based,” Julie said.
“Organisations need people with the skills to be able to effectively manage projects to time and budget across teams,” she said.
“With the right training, you can avoid project management pitfalls.”
