As the Operations Manager for New England based businesses – MacKellar Excavations and Gunnedah Quarry Products – much of Tim MacKellar’s work is estimating and project management.
Tim says the benefit of completing the Diploma of Project Management was that it gave him skills sets to enable a more systematic and efficient approach to running projects.
“The course gave me practical new tools and also put my work in the right sequence.” Tim says.
There have been some additional, revenue creating benefits too. He says some of those tools, such as the project charter template, have been useful for successful tenders and quotations. The businesses serve some major clients including WestConnex, RMS, ARTC, Western Sydney Airport, local councils and mines.
“I have used the skills and tools I gained from the course to present our businesses in a better light in those tendering processes,” he says.
“The project charter template more easily helped me to define our approach to a project – outlining the project scope, stakeholders and risk management.”
“It has taken the presentation of our business to another level of professionalism.”
Tim chose Forysthes Training because of his positive experience undertaking other qualifications – namely Training and Assessment.
He says the trainer, Trevor Pennifold, was highly experienced and highly competent.
“Trevor knows his subject matter and is a good presenter.”
“He makes the material relevant to every industry.”
“I would absolutely recommend Forsythes Training.”
