The researchers offered these recommendations as how to overcome these challenges.
Set goals. Be proactive in setting goals, and with setting the timelines and deadlines required to meet those goals.
Delegate more. Delegating can, in fact, make you more productive. The act of delegation can also empower the people to whom you have given work.
Maximise your unique value-add. Among all the organisational priorities, focus on the important tasks that only you can do. You will maximise your specific value to the organisation. Delegate everything else.
Gain some role clarity. Understand what your work does and does not entail. Then practice and be comfortable saying “no.”
Continue to develop skills. Develop relationship skills, skills to enact change and skills to cope with organisational politics.
