Forsythes Training students can access FREE equity and cultural capability course

Forsythes Training is partnering with the University of Newcastle Australia to offer its students a FREE short course Introduction to Equity and Cultural Capability.

The University of Newcastle online course covers cultural appropriateness, respectfulness, inclusive conduct, language and literacy. Through quizzes, discussions and activities, students can grow their understanding of cultural awareness, cultural sensitivity, cultural competence and cultural safety.

Students can complete the course, in a time convenient to them, while receiving support from a University of Newcastle Academic. The course takes approximately 15-20 hours and has no prior knowledge or education requirements. When students successfully complete the course, they receive a digital badge. They can add the badge to their online profiles, such as LinkedIn, and to their resume.

Forysthes Training CEO Chad White said more organisations and individuals are seeing the importance and value of culturally inclusive equity and diversity training.

“This course introduces concepts and skills that develop culturally appropriate, respective and inclusive workplace conduct,” Chad said.

“Forsythes Training wants to play its part in enhancing appropriate cultural awareness across our employees, clients and the community,” he said.

Ongoing partnership between University of Newcastle and Forsythes Training

“We have a strong partnership with the University of Newcastle to ensure pathways between our registered training organisation and higher education institutions. We have an articulation pathway from some of our leadership and management courses into University Newcastle business degrees.

Promoting this cultural capability course to our students is another way we are supporting our partner and encouraging people to experience the benefits of both vocational education and higher education.”
