Area of Learning — Life Styles Inventory Tools – LSI 1 & LSI 2

How do LSI tools benefit leaders, teams and organisations?

The LSI tools help your team to think and behave to their full potential. Self-awareness is the first principle of emotional intelligence.

Changing people and culture is fundamental to improved performance. Measuring human behaviour is often a stumbling block. But with this tool you have an organisation wide way to measure and benchmark your organisation’s people and culture change initiatives to drive greater productivity and better performance.

The LSI tools re very valuable in getting individuals to:

  • discover new ways of thinking and behaving
  • improve their effectiveness in their roles
  • cope better with stress, pressure and change
  • achieve self-set goals
  • apply more flexible and creative thinking
  • improve their interpersonal relationships
  • increase their personal effectiveness.

How do LSI tools work?

  1. LSI 1 allows individuals to self-assesses their thinking styles, personal effectiveness and satisfaction at work and home.
  2. LSI 2 allows up to 12 of the individual’s peers, managers and/or subordinates provide feedback on their behaviour and effectiveness.

The data from these surveys is presented in Human Synergistics Circumplex. The results of the two are compared to identify the individual’s confirmed strengths, unrecognised strengths, blind spots and stumbling blocks.

Forsythes Training has been using human synergistics tools to successfully help its clients and their staff improve performance and culture.

The Human Synergistics Circumplex

A picture tells a thousand words.

The Human Synergistics system is used by tens of thousands of organisations around the world. Its Circumplex shows behavioural styles AND starts to provide a common language to quantify and discuss individuals’, teams’, managers’ and leaders’ behavioural styles and approaches, as well as the culture of your organisation.

The Circumplex breaks down the factors underlying performance effectiveness according to 12 behaviours or styles which are further grouped according to three general style clusters

  • Constructive (blue)
  • Aggressive/Defensive (red)
  • Passive/Defensive (green).

The colours make the diagram even easier to analyse. People are more effective in organisations the more they display constructive styles and the less they display the other styles.

Forsythes Training uses the latest and most effective tools in its nationally accredited leadership and management qualifications and its leadership short courses.
