Forsythes Training Delivering NSW Local Government Skills Strategy

Forsythes Training Director Julie Carroll today spoke at a NSW Training Services’ forum to outline how local councils can take advantage of the NSW Local Government Skills Strategy to develop a more capable and skilled workforce.

The Strategy provides funding for targeted vocational education and training (VET) from accredited suppliers such as Forysthes Training for councils across NSW to meet current and future skills needs.

Julie said Forysthes Training was already working with several councils to deliver them customised training in areas including leadership and management, training and assessment education (TAE), customer service and computer and application skills.

The program also offers pre-employment training and work experience opportunities
for young people and those disadvantaged in the workforce increasing the number of apprentices and new entrant trainees employed or hosted by councils.

The NSW Government is investing $4.6 million in the 12-month program.
