Amping up leadership capability at Ampcontrol.

Global electrical engineering company Ampcontrol needed to ensure its supervisors and leading hands had formal qualifications in leadership and management but, most importantly, the skills to lead and motivate in a continuously changing environment.

Forsythes Training’s expert trainer Di Sweeney delivered a blended training program across two states to fit the firm’s needs. NSW staff did workshops while Queensland staff completed the training via e-learning with Di flying up for role play sessions and general support.

Ampcontrol’s Organisational Development & Improvement Specialist Jonathan Hirst said it is the support and flexibility from Forsythes Training that makes the difference.

Participants consistently rated the skills in prioritising work and dealing with conflict as most valuable. They rated highly the variety of delivery tools offered during the training particularly the videos, recorded webinars, Moodle resources, coaching calls and trainer mentoring.

Jonathan said a concern with any training, particularly e learning, is staff become distracted by day to day work pressures. He said the webinars and other e-learning resources allowed staff to catch up or revisit material.
