Course Overview

Please see below for our Accelerated virtual classroom program. Our virtual TAE40122 courses are not distance learning or self-paced.

Each session is delivered in a five consecutive days of live classroom environment via Zoom where students and trainers can interact as a group as well as individually.

Three five days blocks of facilitator lead training

When completing TAE40122 as an accelerated virtual participant, students must be observed delivering the following in person training sessions in a real workplace or simulated work environment:

    • Three x 30-minute different content training sessions to at least a group of four adult learners
    • Two x 30-minute one on one training/coaching sessions delivered to different learner on each occasion.

Forsythes Training offer our students two assessment options:

1).  Students video record and submit their in-person training sessions. Students will require a group of four (4) adults for 3x 30-minute group training sessions and two (2) other adults for 2x 30-minute individual training sessions

2).  Attend our venue in Newcastle NSW to conduct the deliveries in person and be observed by one of our trainers and assessors

TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is a nationally recognised qualification that is designed to prepare individuals for the role of vocational education and training (VET) teachers, trainers, and assessors. The qualification is suitable for those who are seeking to enter the VET sector or for those who are already working in the sector and wish to design, deliver and assess competency based training.

Virtual Classroom  Delivery:

  • Over 120 hours of structured training
  • Three five day blocks each session 9am – 4:30pm
  • Optional TAE40122 assessment delivery days face to face in Newcastle for 3 x 30-minute group training sessions and 2 x 30-minute sessions individual training
  • Participants must have “netflix streaming” Internet connection speed, laptop and camera
  • As stipulated by ASQA participants must be able to video record in person training  ( Virtual students will need a group of four adults for group training session  and two other  adults for individual training session )

  • Access to E-learning resources, recorded assessment tips

Course Structure

This course is organised into twelve (12) units of competency, made up of six (6) core units plus six elective units

The program is comprised of:

  • Three x five day blocks of  virtual training sessions
  • All students have access to E-learning
  • Optional One on One Student support sessions for participants who may require additional support.
  • Live training sessions recorded and distributed for download/future reference

Traditional workshop delivery at Forsythes Training or a dedicated event at your workplace, with Student Support Days to provide one on one guidance. (See public scheduled dates below, also includes access to online materials).

Who Should Attend?

TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is an essential qualification for anyone who wants to pursue a career in the VET sector, as a trainer and assessor.

These individuals would require the skills to plan, prepare, deliver, assess and improve vocational training. Individuals should be engaged in a training and education environment or have vocational skills at a level that supports training and education in the subject area in which they intend to teach.

The technical expertise achieved in this qualification may be utilised in, and is not limited to, the following job roles:

  • Enterprise trainer
  • Enterprise assessor
  • RTO trainer
  • RTO assessor

  • Training adviser or training needs analyst
  • Vocational education teacher
  • Employees who need to achieve this level in the workplace. These people may have experience but lack formal qualifications.

Pathways

After achieving TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, participants may undertake TAE50116 Diploma in Vocational Education and Training or TAE50216 Diploma in Training Design and Development.

Entry Requirement

Those entering this accelerated program must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessing area.

Students will also need to have prior knowledge/ experience in the VET sector to enrol in our accelerated program, have the ability to complete class pre-reading prior to start date of each unit/s,  and availability to complete nightly homework between each daily session as well as approx. 10-12hrs weekly homework in between blocks.

Participants are required to bring their own laptop and must be comfortable in completing the following tasks on a computer:

  • Saving documents to folders
  • Saving documents to the cloud
  • Easily accessing/locating files on their computer quickly
  • Using tables to complete templates
  • Recording and uploading video’s
  • Able to minimize, reduce page size, open files
  • Participants will also need to have access to Microsoft Word.

It is also recommended for participants who are completing the qualification virtually to have access to two (2) monitors.

Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.

You will be asked to complete a series of questions relating to your previous employment and training history. You will be required to agree to and provide written permission for Forsythes Training to contact your employer.

Recognition of Prior Learning

For participants not wishing to attend classroom workshops, skills recognition through an assessment only pathway is available through a formal RPL application process where previous industry experience applies.

AQF Qualifications and Statements of Attainment are recognised at enrolment or during the course through the Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer process, provided qualifications are relevant to the course undertaken are current.
