TAE40122: 30-minute training deliveries

Students who missed a day due to being sick/away or are studying via virtual Zoom classroom or eLearning can book for Assessment observation of their 30-minute Training deliveries

Relates to units TAEDES411, TAEDES412, TAEDEL411, TAEDEL412 – Students must attend 9am – 4:30pm on the date booked.

TAE40122 or TAESS00019: Validation Observations

Students who missed a day due to being sick/away or are studying via eLearning can book for Assessment observations.

Relates to units BSBAUD412, TAEASS412, TAEASS413

You must have attended a Student support session (see above)  prior to booking an Assessment observation to ensure you are ready to undertake assessment.

Students must attend for a 3-hour window via Zoom or Face to Face in Newcastle on the date booked.

Email training@forsythestraining.com.au to be added to the waitlist. You will be emailed with available assessment time and date when the next session is running.

FAQs

How long does it take to complete a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment?

The TAE40122 qualification typically takes 6 months to complete, however you will have 12 months to complete your training.

The TAE40122 Certificate IV Training and Assessment has a nominal hours minimum of 600 hours, however, more experienced students who deliver training, design training materials, have used www.training.gov.au and know what a unit of competency is will find the assessment process easier, as they are more familiar with the sector.

Will the Certificate in IV in Training & assessment get me a job?

Receiving your TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and assessment enables you to pursue a variety of training roles including but not limited to:

  • Vocational education trainer (VET)
  • Registered trainer for a training organisation (RTO)
  • Training advisor or training needs analyst
  • Enterprise trainer / assessor
  • Vocational education teacher
  • Development and learning officer
  • Officer for human resources specializing in trainers

Do I need work placement to conduct my deliveries and assessment practices?

No work placement is required for the deliveries when you study your TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment with Forsythes Training, however you must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in your proposed teaching and assessing area. It’s recommended that you have a minimum  2-3 years experience in the vocational field that you wish to train in once you have completed this course and you must have access to a real workplace to be able to apply your skills and knowledge as you work though the course. This may include unpaid or volunteer roles.

We provide 1 opportunity to conduct your 3 x 30 minute training sessions to an adult audience of 4 people in our practical workshops in Newcastle NSW. For other Training delivery sessions or observation role plays you may asked to video recorded and submit. We also provide simulated assessment practices for you observe and record assessment feedback.

Can I fast-track my Certificate IV in Training and Assessment?

The TAE40122 is a challenging qualification, especially if you have never worked in the Vocational Education Sector.

Forsythes Training provides all the resources a student needs via our student portal. We also provide live scheduled training, if you want to progress faster through the qualification, you can choose to do so, or enrol in an accelerated block scheduled course, however we recommend attending your workshops first before submitting your assessments.

Our standard training and assessment strategy is spaced out over six months for homework, reading and application of skills.

Do I need to be able to use a computer?

The TAE40122 Qualification has a strong focus on digital skills. For face to face, virtual classroom training, and eLearning a basic level of competence with computers is required to successfully complete the training material, parts of your qualification involve:

  • Designing assessments instruments
  • Preparing a training session
  • Preparing a lesson plan

All resources are provided digitally in your e-learning portal.   You will also need to have MS Word and MS PowerPoint installed on your Laptop or PC. You will need to be able to do the following:

  • Navigate internet
  • Email
  • Cut and paste in MS Word and use Word tables
  • Save and open a document
  • Zip File
  • Upload documents and videos.
  • Quickly locate a saved document
  • Create PowerPoint Presentations

Virtual classroom content also involves interactive e-learning materials and recorded key learning and assessment tips to help reinforce workshop content.

Can I use Recognised Prior Learning or Direct Credit transfers?

Recognised prior learning (RPL)  is really challenging for the TAE40122 qualification as unless you have worked as a trainer and assessor in the past, it’s often easier to complete the assessment tasks than apply for RPL.
