NSW RFS Skill Set – TAESS00030 Volunteer Trainer Delivery and Assessment Contribution Skill Set
Participants will develop theory and skills in fundamental areas of:
Preparing & delivering components of NSW RFS training content
Practicing their presentation and training skills with their NSW RFS peers
Theory of workplace coaching
Theory of workplace assessment & gathering evidence using NSW RFS assessment tools
These skills and knowledge will develop the NSW RFS capability and understanding of how to provide quality training and assessment to fellow volunteers.
The course consists of three units of competency from the TAE40122 Certificate IV Training and Assessment.

TAEASS311 contribute to an assessment
Participants need to express interest in NSW RFS and commit to a scheduled program on a nominated day of the week, that best suits their personal circumstances.
Forsythes Training offer dedicated virtual training programs, held via the Zoom platform. This reduces the need for travel but provides live instructor lead training, with the opportunity to ask questions of trainers and fellow learners in real-time.
Participants in a virtual classroom will need
Good internet connection
A computer fitted with a camera and sound – full audio and video functionality
Headphones if in a shared workspace
To be comfortable operating a computer, navigating the internet, typing, accessing files and
uploading assessments.
Ideally a second screen or printed assessment
Participants will have access too
Whiteboard activities
Break out rooms for group activities or one on one feedback
Weekday Evenings – Eight nominated Tuesday and Wednesday evenings across four weeks, participant stays with the same group and trainer
Sunday- four nominated Sundays, participant stays with the same group and trainer.
Access to all training and assessment content will be via our Canvas portal.
Live scheduled webinars in virtual classroom environment Training from 9am till 4.30pm on Sunday sessions, or 6-9.30pm for evening sessions.

Face to Face Training
This skill set can be delivered face to face; NSW RFS will capture expressions of interest for learners and area commands who prefer this format.
Dates will then be organised and offered in nominated locations. The delivery of face to face will be in two day blocks, normally run on Saturdays/Sundays.
Forsythes Training Requirements
We require a minimum of 12 and maximum of 14 per dedicated group
Forsythes Training requires NSW RFS to group participants accordingly, participants must be able to attend each nominated training session in their allotted group
NSW RFS will need to provide Forsythes with participant names, email addresses and mobile numbers for each allotted group
NSW RFS attendee will require Photo ID and USI number to complete online enrolment process
Now its the time ... Take the leap and get qualified
The full TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is offered by Forsythes Training on a public schedule or as a dedicated event. You will need internal approval before looking to enrol and complete this qualification.
There is a substantial amount of homework and focus required to complete the challenging TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. It involves 13-15 days of instruction spread out over a period of five to six months, in addition to pre-course reading and completing the six clusters of assessment.
The program is comprised of:
Fifteen (15) face to face classroom workshops, or thirteen (13) live virtual workshops held via the Zoom platform.
Access to all student resources including participant guides, assessments via canvas
Access to E-learning resources, recorded assessment tips
Learn from certified experienced trainers with real-world experience.
Participate in interactive learning experiences, capturing some practical components of program in class
Feel supported through your studies with our dedicated Student Support Days
Optional One on One support sessions for participants who may require additional support.
The cost to complete the qualification is $4000 GST Free per person.
In order to enrol in the TAE40122 each attendee will need to provide a copy of previous qualifications/transcripts.
Dedicated events for NSW RFS can be arranged in conjunction with RFS nominated contact. Forsythes requires a minimum of 12 participants to run a dedicated event.
Live Virtual Classrooms
Forsythes Training offers the TAE40122 via live virtual workshops, held on the Zoom platform. This reduces the need for travel but provides live instructor lead training, with the opportunity to ask questions of trainers and fellow learners in real-time.

Over 104 hours of structured training
Full day sessions 9am – 4.30pm
Participants must have “netflix streaming ” Internet connection , laptop and camera
Access to all student resources including participant guides, assessments via canvas
Access to E-learning resources, recorded assessment tips
Learn from certified experienced trainers with real-world experience.
Participate in interactive learning experiences, capturing practical components of program in class
As stipulated by ASQA TAE40122 participants must be able to video record in person training ( Virtual students will need a group of four adults for group training session and two other adults for individual training session )
Opportunity to attend our venue to conduct your 3 x 30 minute deliveries and 2 x 30 individual training sessions
Face to Face Training
The TAE40122 is also available face to face held here at our office in Newcastle West NSW, but we can offer to run a dedicated face to face TAE40122 program for your area command, please contact program.management@rfs.nsw.gov.au for further information.
