Work Health Safety Training Requirement

Forsythes Training is of the understanding that industry has a requirement to up skill and upgrade their current employees responsible for Work Health Safety across the region. Given there are participants with superseded qualifications or statement of attainments in OH & S , participants would like to see these units of competency recognised where possible.

Given the recent changes to the Work Health Safety training package, industry is looking for an innovative training and assessment solution that will provide the following;

  1. Certificate IV and Diploma participants to attend as many workshops together as a group, maximising the investment and providing opportunity for knowledge sharing and networking
  2. Participants opportunity to upgrade previous OH &S qualifications to the new standard
  3. Participants receive direct credit transfer where superseded units are equivalent, and can provide currency.
  4. Training and assessment strategy suitable for a Diploma WHS participant; with no prerequisites

Delivery Methodology and Training Schedule

Forsythes Training proposes the following Training and Assessment solution for industry. The innovative schedule uses the training package rules and an additional upgrade training session for Diploma WHS participants. Essentially the program caters for three training need outcomes.

  • Upgrade to Diploma WHS
  • Full Diploma WHS
  • Certificate IV WHS

Each unit of competency would require a full day workshop and associated assessment tasks.

Therefore the training days required for a Certificate IV WHS are ten workshops, for a Diploma there would be eleven days, nine workshops and two day upgrade of Certificate IV core to Diploma equivalent skills and knowledge.

NOTE there will be five additional assessment tasks for Diploma students.
