Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the process by which your existing skills, knowledge and experience gained throughout your life, regardless of how they have been acquired, are recognised towards the achievement of a nationally recognised qualification or statement of attainment.
Your skills will need to be assessed against national standards and this is done by a qualified trainer and assessor.

Forsythes Training will provide you with an RPL Kit which is designed for use for TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. You must nominate in the kit the qualification and units of competency that you are applying for. Your evidence needs to demonstrate your work, experience, knowledge, skills and ability to apply these in a workplace environment.
The RPL process is a streamlined process which does not rely solely on documentary evidence. It uses a combination of questioning, practical assessment and supporting evidence to provide evidence of your competence.
Forsythes Training has included in this RPL Kit the Units of Competency that are offered in their TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
If participants would like to choose to apply for the one unit elective they can pick in this qualification that is not included in this RPL Kit, then they are to contact the Forsythes Compliance Manager on (02) 49 220 122 who will be happy to assist them with their application for RPL in line with the Training Package rules.
Forsythes Training offers the RPL process that will give trainers and other professionals involved in training and assessment the most up to date training qualification.
Forsythes Training will provide a Recognition of Prior Learning Kit to be completed. This Kit will provide the guidelines for the information which can be included as evidence. Once submitted your assessor will review your application and contact you to conduct a competency interview. If your assessor determines that you are not yet competent for any unit / s there will be a requirement to provide additional evidence, complete workplace based assessment tasks or attend face to face training to close any identified gaps.

The TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment has been designed to reflect the roles of individuals delivering training and assessment services in the vocational education and training (VET) sector. The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification is the national minimum standard formally required by professionals involved in training and assessment. This course provides all the skills necessary to conduct training and assessment in a professional manner.
Those entering this program must be able to provide evidence to demonstrate vocational competency in your proposed teaching and assessing area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.
You will also be asked to complete a series of questions relating to your previous employment and training history.
